During the Spring and Summer holidays we offer children staying at The Cove the opportunity to camp in safety and under supervision. We have cleared an area tucked away in our grounds for just that purpose and as a space to learn the basics of Bush Craft. A whole range of skills are taught from sourcing wild foods and cooking up a meal from foraged goodies, to biverwack and camp fire building.
After a hard day of site building the kids can all sit back around a roaring fire, with or without their parents, tell stories, toast marshmallows, sip hot chocolate and simply enjoy the outdoor and the night skies. As the campsite is so close to the hotel, younger ones are not excluded and can just drop in and out for short sessions, whilst teenagers can have that bit more independence and time away, in a controlled, supervised environment.
