For instance did you know that the recent Pirates of The Caribbean 4 was filmed, in part in St Ives? Johnny Depp spent last summer hidden away from screaming fans in a secret location close by.

Do you remember the 1970′s movie Straw Dogs, with Dustin Hoffman? This was about an American couple moving to an idyllic rural location in England, but receiving a less than warm welcome from the locals. Well that was filmed in and around St Buryan just 1.5 miles away from the hotel.

And what about The Shell Seekers – Although maybe not the most gripping of tales, this made for TV movie does illustrate to the viewer the beauty of the Cornish landscapes and was filmed predominantly in Lamorna!

Oh, not forgetting the popular TV Detective series Wycliffe, filmed on locations throughout the county, Poldark, another TV adaptation, this time in a Period Drama, set against the rugged Cornish Coast and Tin Mines.
